Hi,
My 3.0 1998 elite saloon failed its MOT today with leaking offside rear shock :(. Does anyone know if it would have the air shocks or standard shocks fitted. Or can someone advise me how I can tell what is fitted? :-?P/N would be a great help as well......and as if i'm not asking for much where might i get hold of a pair (assuming its best to change both rear at same time) at a very attractive price of course!! :-X
ta very much.

Hi Macca,
My air shock just dumped a load of fluid. Air shocks will have a pipe attached near the top of the shock, I believe VX is in the region of £145 + each for these shocks, couldn't find an after market. I decided to fit standard gas shocks instead , Bilseins @ £77 delivered for a pair from http://www.balancemotorsport.co.uk/main.asp . I then found a spring gone and VX wanted £312.55 for a pair for air shock suspension but I eventually found standards would be fine with standard suspension.
If I had replaced all air adjuster type it would have cost nearly as much as the cars worth. ;D If you do disconnect the air system for standard you will need to unplug the compressor under the front drivers wing behind the bumper.

if someone on here is local to you with a trade card, they can get you the genuine VX part for £77.71 each if you want to replace both
