Sorry if this is elsewhere on the site, Could anyone tell me how I adjust the beam on a post facelift 2001 Omega? (I know about the levers to make it left or right hand drive) but its the beam height that needs adjustment.
Thanks

iirc there is a small alan key adjusver on the top edge
Where the bonnet closes onto the h light. 4 mill or
Something like that. Youll see the silver bar on top.
Re 99 cdx projector style. Not sure if its the same on
all types.

Thanks for the fast reply, I have tried that and it doesn't seem to move the beam at all???
-
hmm, how are you measuring it? It takes a tiny amount of hight(on a garage door for example)
To give you a beam alot further up the road.
Or as was in my case. The back of the headlight is buggered and it not moving the lense inside. You may need to take the light out and see whats what.
Is the headlight adjuster working on the dash?
-
Yes the dash adjuster moves it up and down, the problem is that the MOT tester messed about with it. He accidently switched the passenger side light to LHD and then spent ages adjusting it to pass the test so now the drivers beam is fine but passenger beam stops about 10 yds in front of the car, will try again when it's dark!

How the hell do you manage to 'accidently' squeeze your hand behind the battery to get your hand to the lever? :-/ ;)
-
God Knows!!! I think he must have been looking for extra work to charge for and then messed it up totally!
-
of if he has adjusted like that, just leave alone is an easy option ;D
-
carefull because i'm sure you can adjust so far that the adjuster comes off the end of the screw!
-
Managed to adjust it. Didn't take a great deal but the nearside light was pointing almost straight down, it meant that effectively I was using only one light. Set properly now and very happy as I can see at night.
Thanks o all for your help. It's great having you all to fall back on for a variety of problems. :)

presume he set it to uk hight on the continental setting, then Pete wright put it back on uk and the beam is then on the bumper. how did he pass it? at least he tried. i would take it back to double check it.
