Title: Rear bearing cap covers...
Post by: PaulW on 05 August 2008, 17:38:52
The small caps on the outside of the rear hubs (PN 90498566).  Is there any danger in not having these fitted to the car?

Had the bearings done a few weeks back (VX), and they never replaced these so ordered 2 to fit myself, but I can't get them to fit as it looks like they bent the hub or whatever to get the old ones back on.

The passenger one is *sort-of* fitted, but not flush like I'd like it to be (and took some persuasion to get on)...

I don't have them on neither side, don't really see their purpose? It looks like my car has never had ones...

Yes, in general, but look at the Omega rear bearing setup, there really is no need for these, the bearing sits behind the brakes etc. This cap covers only solid metal.
