Changed pump & stat , No difference.
With electric fans running permanently , guage says 97 ,top of rad is cold, bottom is hot. Is it the rad ? If it was silted surely it would be the other way round, Help.

Rad fubar by sounds of it.
Remove rad, pour boiling hot water in it, and feel if it heats up evenly, of ir there are initial coldspots. Sounds lik you will have coldspots :(

sounds like an air lock, but failing that a blocked rad does sound favourite, does the heater blow hot?

Shame you're so bloody far away, I have a spare TD rad in garage (2nd hand, so probably not ideal) that you could at least test. :'(
