I just managed to kick off the bonnet release lever under the dash yesterday - did exact same thing to my old GLS estate - grrrrrr
must be the way I dive into the car
does it just click back in place? old car i never bothered as i was already trading it in - just kept a pair of pliers in the glovebox to pull the wire....so to speak ;D
doesnt LOOK broken - but it seems to be a flimsy design :( >:( >:(

I've done that a few times - it does clip back in but is a pain and requires you to be a bit of a contortionist to get a good view down there. Can't remember how I got it back on but IIRC it needed to be dismantled to get it in properly - though there may be an easier way, as you said it is very flimsy in design and was very disappointed in it's build quality. Hope you sort it out - it took me about 15 mins to sort mine out. :y

I see what you mean Tafty - clipped the lever back in easy enough - but attaching the wire is the tricky bit - it's do-able with a little patience - no prob :y- not important enough to get muddy for at the mo!
now wheres my pliers.................? :-?

hard isnt even the word, the previous owner of my elite had left the bonnet release off and was using pliers to open it, after a couple of hours, painstaking positioning of my body in the car and severe cuts to my hands and wrists i managed to eventually re-attach the cable without taking the car apart!!
good luck is all i say cos there's no easier way of doing it by the sounds of it!
