Hi all, like most new v6 owners I was shitt*ng myself about the belt going,it had been done 39,000 ago and considered doing it myself but didnt have the time. I phoned round but most garages wouldnt touch it and those that would wanted £550-£600 just for belt and tensioner.
I managed to speak to a friendly VX tech who was happy to come to my house with the dealer kit and fit gen vx belt+ tensioner , idlers, water pump aux belt and fresh coolant for £320. Im happy with that!
When he removed the timing cover, horror of horrors dots of tippex on the pulleys, locking tool wouldnt fit either bank and he reckons it was 5 degrees out at least, the tensioner was weeping grease big time too, basically im glad as hell I didnt wait any longer. The guy is based in North west and I could put people in touch if interested.

Sounds quite a good deal with all the parts genuine too ;)

The parts for this on trade club come to about £140, so he's charged you £180 in labour for a 2 hour job - that's £90 an hour!!
