Title: Rattly door lock tabs
Post by: V8S on 21 August 2008, 12:26:54
I read on here (or somewhere!) about curing the rattly door tabs, which have finally annoyed me enough to try to do something about them.

I now can't find the thread despite searching on here and using Google to search the site. :(

Anyone got a link?

Cheers chaps.

I can't find the link, but I remember the thread.  I think the solution was to take off the door cards and stick some foam around the base of the door tabs which stopped them rattling.  Mine are starting to do that as well now.

Brush type insulation strip attached to the metal work just below where the pin sits works well.

Door card off job

I put some foam around the tabs a few months ago, just slipped on over the top but I have been loathe to glue the foam down to cut out most of the rattling because it will look awful.

Looks like door card off - looks a big job.
