It depends if your car is DBW .... drive by wire :y
-
Its really easy to do if your car is auto and drive by wire ( ive just had it done to mine a month ago )... i think its a bit more complex if its a manual but still doable :y
-
ITS A DIESEL!!!!
It has cruise enabled - there will be a fault code stored saying no stalk found!
Add a stalk and all will be well :y
-
Just get the correct stalk
2 wire part No.9181012
-
cheers guys

Stalk will need to be from another diesel...or maybe even a manual, think they are 2 wire too??
-
The BMW 2.5TD is pre-enabled (actually, it can't be disabled). Just add the 2 wire cruise stalk (which is unique to the TD), and it will work.
Don't use a second hand stalk, buy new from a dealer (Approx £30 + VAT), as second hand ones don't last.

Oh how I wish that were true!!!
My local 'Stealer' wanted £45 + VAT for the damn thing!!!!!
Next nearest local 'stealer' wanted the same!!!!
local scrappy, £6 + vat. Been OK for a couple of months now. 'Stealers' are the scum of the earth.....pariahs, all of 'em.

So another member sees a good reason for driving a Traktor!! :D
(there are some TB!!!)

Would someone confirm this should work on my '95 wiesel tractor as well?
Seems a little bit to simple, tho it'd sure be handy when I'm off to France and Spain next week, and also for towing the pikey palace! 8-)

Yup, it works on all BMW 2.5TD engines fitted to Omegas.

Thanks for that, I've ordered the stalk now so I'll be fitting it in the morning!

The only thing is it must be the 2 wire stalk, unique to the 2.5TD - all other Omegas used the 4 wire stalk, inc the 2.0DTi amd 2.2DTi

Yep, part number 9181012 ! Thought I'd google it and all the answers came back to here! :y
