hi engine races up to 2000 revs and back down again in idle  so can i suspect idle valve 2ltr gls  :( :D

Clean out the ICV and the breathers, there's an excellent guide in the Maintenance section.

air leak to inlet system? Above mentioned and cam sensor are common on 4 pots. Breathers will probably need doing what ever. :y

as said, do a thorough job cleaning brether pipes (particularly the small one AND the metal nozzle it connects to below the throttle body.

Use new gaskets when reassembling (cost pennies from Vx)

Also check none of the vacuum pipes have come adrift.
