Title: Omega 2.5 elite heaters???
Post by: AndyMV6 on 30 August 2008, 09:37:39
Morning all,

i have a prob with my 1999 omega elite. I cant get any heat from the heaters. I get nice cold aircon. Ive checked the vacum supply to the HBV and its working as it should.
I select heat on the climate control and it stays cold, if i press eco it goes luke warm.

Ive been advised that it could be my blendoor???!?!?!?!?!?

Any idea?

Thanks Andy

Have you hot water going to & particularly from the heater matrix? ie a blocked matrix

Sorry to barge in the thread .....

I also have a similar problem, my air con needs re gassing so everything seems to be luke warm at the minute.but.
When I choose HI on the climate control its say just above luke warm air coming out of it.

I usually have the blower around half way, because if the fan is on maximum, its like cool air coming through

What should I check for because I would have no idea where to start ?

Thanks

Maybe worth running a garden hose through your heater matrix first see if that helps :y

Would it not be the hbv not working  :question

If you look under the dash by your left foot you will see 2 metal pipes, feel them to see if they are getting hot with the heater on full hot, if one is cold then the matrix is blocked, mine was.
Had to replace mine in the end, the PO had put radweld in it to seal a leak on the matrix, when i flushed it the joint split after about 25 miles!!!
Good luck.

Always worth doing a climate reset to start with.

I found out the hard way that flushing with a garden hose gives the appearance of water flow. Unfortunately the coolant pump is much less effective at circulating liquid.

Flushing may help, but don't be misled by the apparent flow rate through the matrix.

I also discovered that the matrix could withstand a blast of compressed air, that cleared some debris. I'm not sure I'd recommend it unless you are prepared to change the matrix anyway.
