Title: aux belt

where can i get a serpentine belt or do you call it a fan belt for the v6 engine. I am not sure what to ask for

you mean the standard aux belt? - Vaux dealer or local parts place.

I have one here for a V6 with air-con you can have.

Bought one the other day, around £20 from dealer if you have access to Trade Club

Some of the pattern ones seem to be fractionally shorter for some reason

Agreed - which then wear out the bearings in the aux tensioner (and other components) quicker...

Thanks all it would be simpler to go to the dealer and part with the money. At least I know what to ask for now.

have a search on here for trade club card. Easiest via autobahnstormers web site. It gives a good saving on serviceable parts. Comes in handy. For instance 20ltr of semi synth oil for £33, standard retail about 80!
Ps tip take a pic or note the routing of the belt before you take off the old one. Just in case you have trouble getting the old one back on. And measure the lengths between the 2 with the old thumb to thumb trick, just to make sure they have you the right one. Hope helps.

The Trade Club one is pretty short. It's 100mm shorter than the EPC says is correct for the 2.5 V6. It does fit - just - although my new belt can squeek on startup and the old one never did.

???? I bought one from Vx on TC - only marginally shorter than my old, stretched knackered one!!  Fitted ok.

I brought one from local trade autofactors £17 local dealer wanted £40+. :y
