My MV6 has S/L suspension but the relay has been removed as the car had a tow bar fitted! it definatly still has it as the shocks have hoses connected to them and there are 2x hoses in the boot off each shock!
my question is what type of relay is used? color etc as i have a fair few spare and want to see if i can fix it!

any ideas basically all i need is the p/n of the relay that lives in the drivers fusebox

Going off the fuse box lid under the steering column I think it's the top right hand relay - above the flasher relay. It's only quite small3/4"x1/2" (?) black, 4 terminals =|| 90 229 206
Are you sure it's not just the fuse that's been pulled or, as mine was, unplugged at the compressor?

thanks andy relay and fuse were removed for tow bar it says in the recipt for t bar install
where does the compressor live?

Part number is 24432680, RELAY, REAR SUSPENSION LEVELLING DEVICE
Compressor is front drivers side

Most odd ... can't see why you would remove self levelling when fitting a tow bar ... it is actually needed more when towing than when not !!!
I'm wondering if, once the towbar was fitted, it was found the self levelling wasn't working, so check your compressor/pipes carefully ... :(

Exactly my thoughts. :-?

compressor drivers side? what does it look like etc and is it under the bonnet or the fuses?

Are you sure your MV6 has 'automatic self-levelling rear suspension' ?
It was only ever standard on Elite models. optional at extra cost on others, also the pressure lines don't enter the boot, they are clipped to the underneath of the car and go to under the right hand wheel arch were the compressor is located.
As the car was used for towing could it be lifted with an old type 'HI-LO' suspension kit, it worked by fitting special shocks, the pressure line went into the boot to tee joint, you could then pump up the car with a air line so as to alter the ride height, (some VX Carltons had a similar set up. Just thought.

It lives under the front driver's side wing/bumper.
