Ok, bought a 98 Elite estate with 2.5v6 engine to replace my current Tourer...
It has a slight leak on the waterpump so needs sorting before I start using it...also may as well do the cambelt as I dont know when it was last done...so was also thinking...may as well change the cams for 3.0 ones while I'm at it...
Also the exhaust gasket passengers side needs sorting as there is a distinct tick from it...
Anyway, are there any up and coming cambelt parties in the Midlands? Or is there anyone near that can help me doing the change???
Cheers :)

Get the DVD Chris, its not that difficult mate ;)

Ok Dazzler mate I will bring the car down to Sutton and you can show me lol Got the DVD somewhere...still not even sure whats the difference between the cambelt and the aux belt lol

you could always slip in a 3.0 engine, you know how to do that bit :D
-
Only know how to remove them lol

Watch DVD a couple of times. Straightforward job with right kit - altho you will no doubt get grazed arms!! Just done both cars - no probs apart from having to belt off crank pulley on saloon.

Cambelt Party! Cambelt Party! Cambelt Party!
Nottingham area would be good :)

I second the idea of cambelt party in Nottingham.
More than happy to pay whatever the cost of having someone fit mine. There is no way i am attempting it myself would undoubtably end in tears :-[

I third that. A timing belt changing party in Nottingham area sounds great. Quite happy to pay someone to do or give a watchfull eye on the process. :y

If the exhaust leek is in the manifold on the passengers side it means you ether have to take the head off with manifold attached or the engine out. Unless anyone knows different.

Just need to lift drivers side engine up a bit off its engine mount to get the access required to remove all the bolts I believe? Presumably removing the cat to allow the engine to lift lol
