Title: Radio not working
Post by: paul26may on 08 September 2008, 21:26:40
Radio not working and I think it might need a fuse. Does anyone know how I get the unit out? It's a cdr2006.

Same as any other, but the keys are different.

Remove grub screws on facia panel, and insert removal tools (or use 4 nails  :-X) and pull.

You will need radio code to get it working when you put it back in.

Does it have four holes , one in each corner?

you should have 4, 3mm allen key grub screws, one in each corner of the front of the radio. Undo them and put the keys in the same holes, i find a suitable size bobble ended allen key works best, if you can find 4. Push them in until you feel the tabs push out, leave the keys in and pull the radio out. You may find it a bit of a fiddle getting all four keys to line up at the same time so it may take a phew attempts. Hth.

I have managed to remove the facia panel only. The main body of the unit is still inside the housing and I cannot for the life of me figure out how to get it out!

when the keys are inserted, pull with them slightly outwards. This helps to disengage the pins. There is quite a lot of margin when you insert the keys and it could be because they haven't lined up with the holes properly. It does take a bit of fiddling.
