Title: paper clip test

How do you do this/how does it work? never done this before, Can I do it on my 1994 2.0 16v?

Im confused now :-[ I did the test but now the lights gone out altogether when running?????????????????? now what?

The light should go out when the car is running, its should only be on for a couple of seconds when the ignition is first turned on, unless there is a fault.

I don't think you can do the test with the engine running on a 4 pot... Just ignition on :y :y

I did the test with the ignition on (not running) & the eml or whatever goes out straight away?

Ive found out that its the camshaft sensor thats at fault,
VX want £42.10 plus vat p/n 93171450 & LMF VX want £14 p/n 90458252.which one is cost effective?

How difficult is this?,whats involved? Never done this before :'(

Beware of LMF, the quality of thier sensors is very poor!

Ow yes, the Vx one is 33.41+Vat trade club!

Well, I am visiting the Vx dealer tomorrow so could drop one off on Friday as I drive to Coventry every day!

Thanks for the offer Mark much abliged :y I think Im sorted ;)

My friend has a mate at VX now normally the VX bud does'nt help anybody with comission free parts but my friend has managed to twist his arm! (literally ;D)

been looking at the papaer clip test think im going to have to try this soon as i get the cam cover done...

grr 1 day left on ebay still winning...
