Title: O rings throttle body
Post by: valliant72 on 09 September 2008, 02:11:18
Going to clean the throttle body, is it best to change the o rings from the throttle body to the plenum? The large o ring's not the breather ones, i have those.

Hi Valliant

may be a good idea to have them just in case you never know how the old ones will be once off. :y

sorry not sure of part numbers.

If I remember correctly they are very expensive for just a rubber ring seal..about £10=00 each but dont quote me on it..better just giving the originals a clean up with some vaseline.

I use non-vx, total 6 nearly 2£ and as its new no leak and no problem..

Buy an o-ring kit, you can get the 500 piece kit for a tenner!

Maybe one like this (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/419-PC-O-RING-SET-PLUMBER-GARAGE-419PC-ORING-KIT-L72_W0QQitemZ220278247782QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item220278247782&_trkparms=72%3A12|39%3A1|66%3A2|65%3A12|240%3A1318&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14)?

Worth checking the size needed for the specific application however its a rather large set!

i ordered a set like that today, have to wait and see if the sizes are ok, if not useful for other things.
