what centronics cable & connector is req for 95 3l Elite.
where to get it from

Eh? Can't think of anything on an omega that uses a centronics type connector?

Last thing I saw with a Centronics connector is the head HP4 laserjet printer under my desk...you sure you mean Centronics??

Must be on about the socket from the paperclip test, looks similar to one.

Just been and had a look, shows how bad my memory is, socket is nothing like one, but I still think this is probably what he means.

Oh...the J1962!!

Sorry - place i used to work at made their own J1962 leads for their EOL test kit for LandRover, Jaguar and Aston Martin ...

Sorry, you need to say what you are after, and what you are trying to achieve.

If you are after full dealer level diags, then £2750 will buy you the equipment, then you need a subscription to webTIS

If you are after cheap and nasty diag system, cheapo tech2, but MUST have proper serial port on laptop. Approx £25

There are a couple of options in between.

              Certainly not dealer levell, or cheapo.
 just need a cable & plug/plugs to connect a laptop with a serial port
for engine & gearbox ecu (or are they the same?)  Just experimental ?

want to make up a cable to connect to Engine/Gearbox ecu.

The plug is a standard EODB/OBDII connector, available from many outlets.

If you are writing your own software, then thats fine, but if you want to use prewritten software, you need to buy a lead that is compatible with that software (most leads are unique to the software than runs them).

Does that make sense?
