Hi there Peeps ,
Not been here for a while cos the omega's been fine!! However today i've had some strange things happen .
Drove to work last week and got there very low on petrol , 34 miles range remaining on computer display . Started car today when I got back and on route to filling station had to do 'U' turn and car cut out on me. Never happened before but re-started OK , figured that 'U' turn had caused petrol starvation , so drove slowly last 300 meters and put a tenners worth in( theiving petrol station >:( ) then drove 65 motorway miles home . Car behaved normally .
Got back to Brighton and filled up for reasonable price ;D ;D ;D(dies with laughter). Got back in car and it wouldn't start. Turned over OK but wouldn't fire up untill about 5th attempt. When it did start revs fluctuated a bit and then settled down to normal.
Have done paperclip test and no codes are stored except 12 and 31 , engine not running so assume this is normal .
I depend on this car to get to work so would like to head off any problems before I get stranded on M25 :-/ :-/ Any suggestions will be appreciated :y
Thanks Steve.

Perhaps a paperclip test might give a clue?

you run the low on fuel did u turn, only put £10 worth of petrol.
Ok years of gunk got stired up during the u turn then when you put about 9 litres of petrol it must have settled but when you refueled again some of the gunk was able to move through the pipes into the engine.
Firstly check the fuel filter, it would be good to change it if your worried.
if the fuel filter has lots of crud in it you could a fuel check and see whats getting to the engine.(Bits is bad)
Maybe some injector cleaner in the fuel.
Kep us posted on what you find

clean icv with carb cleaner, then lube with light oil :y

You would more than likely get a 19 if crank sensor was on its way out

me thinks air flow sensor, that happened on my w reg cdx, didnt show a code for it either

Don't think fuel level is relevant. idle control valve needed regular cleaning on my old cdx, and always idled better afterwards :y

Would crank sensor not show up on paperclip test?
if I'm not wrong After some succesful starts error codes are cleaned ..

and theoritically if theres no firing at start up this can be
crank sensor or fuel pump if EML dont flash up..
-
ok i'm going to give up tonight, i have just re read this thread and have managed to miss the "not starting " part, even though its in the title and been highlited. Sorry, icv would not stop the car from firing, only stall once running. Lets hope ive got that bit right at least. Very tired, and not concentrating, good night all. :P

I'd change fuel filter as first port of call, in case you've got it clogged.
Could be crank sensor, but with the intermittent nature you have, would expect a 19...
