I need to purchase a new sensor for the crankshaft, but at present cannot get a look at it, its in the garage and because the car is dead, they will not push it onto ramps and check to see if it has a rectangular or oval plug on the existing one. Can anyone help please!!!! :y

it does not need to be on ramps, you can see what type it is while the car is sat normally on the road, just stick you head under!

The plug is at the rear of the engine, not underneith the car.
-
where you jack the car, stick your head in, and look underneath the oil filter, may need a torch, but its easy to see.

If it's the square type, which has a metal body on the sensor I can supply you a VX one which is brand new, just the packaging open, for a better price than TC! I got supplied the wrong one but on a good deal so thought I'd keep it for someone here!! :y :y

Yours will probably be the oval plug type (cheaper). Look underneath near the oil filter - if the sensor end appears to be black plastic then oval plug it is :y If its metal then square plug.
