No.
Only prefacelifts with plastic wood are cdx and elite, and both these had climate from mid 95.
pre mid 95 cdx and elites didn't have climate, but the fan speed and the air direction controls have changed...

i was going to ask the same question DAVEBAR, if i can lay my hands on another black old style one im going to have a play & see if i can adapt one somehow,so if anybody has got one please let me know :y oh & by the way, dont try & take out your original by feeling for the locking bar as stated in the haynes manual, i did & ended up pulling off a connector rod for the heater which youll never get back on as you cant see where it goes :'(

I tried that last night Tim, it's far too much hassle and very difficult. The heater control surrounds (black one) are heat fused to the dash which it's possible to break off (takes time) but you then need to trim down the surrounds to fit the newer style walnut dash. Trying to get that perfectly round and the right size....difficult. Cough cough especially with a Stanley knife :P
I'm sure with the right tools it would be alot easier.

P.S. i'm selling the walnut dash if you want to have a go?

Just make sure you get a good solid, hard to find (the 1st time), tricky to grasp bar, not a small, bendy, easy to find rod

cheers JIMBOB, but the older ones without a/c dont have that bar, its held by the ashtray screws & 4 screws behind the heater knobs, as i found out the hard way, i now have a metal rod that i cant get back on :'(
-
just to keep you up to speed DAVBAR, ive got the knob surrounds out now, to what i can see now its a matter of filing the lip off the side edges of the holes in the walnut facia, you were right about them being a sod to get out, the only other problem is going to be the backlights as the car has 3 & there are 4 controls, had to cut the clear bit that connects them all together to free them from the original panel but i`ll cross that bridge when i come to it, hopefully be all sorted tomorrow [or in the bin ;D], i told you i had too much time on my hands ;)

The locking bar is a right pain, I cut a notch in the end of an old screwdriver - it is now a doddle!

oh well at least ive got one thing done!, managed to adapt the wood style dash & its in, in case you have another go DAVBAR you also have to trim silly bits of plastic off the back to let the plugs slide in [small side cutters & smoothed with emeryboard],also the recycle air button wont go in, you have to cut the blue plastic locating lug off & then it fits, the control rings ive stuck in around the edge with epoxy repair putty after filing the lips off the back of the fascia so the rings fit flush,& thats it, looks nice now ive got my g/box to sort :'(
