Title: Cruise servo box types
Post by: The Barge Captain on 17 September 2008, 13:05:34
I've been in touch with Mutantcav about a replacement cruise servo unit (the box that is on the inner wing and connects to the bowden cable on the throttle body)
He says there are different part numbers for prefacelift long and short plenums, and another number for facelift versions!
Is there really any difference?  I only need one as the ribbon inside mine has snapped so only need to replace the box

As far as I know, the boxes are the same.  Its the length of the bowden cable thats different....

yep they are different for pre and post facelift and i think also for auto and manual.

I would only go for like for like personally - otherwise its going to be more difficult to work out if theres a fault or a compatibility issue if it doesnt work.

According to EPC :

there were 4 different types, which all came with the correct cable, now just 2...

post and pre facelift

you then order the correct cable

3 different 2.0 litre cables
1 for 2.5
1 for 3.0

on the lookout for a cheap 3.0 manual kit as well (stalk, brake & clutch switch, plus obviously actuator and cable).

Cant see me matching the 99p I managed to win one for last time  :'(

Well the bowden cable is ok, it's just the internal ribbon in the box that is FUBAR
