Title: Whistling noise

Help - whistling noise from my 2.2tdi can only hear it when sitting revving or accelerating - can anyone tell me whats up please? :-/

Could it be an air leak?
Can you listen for it under the bonnet? assuming the noise is from under the bonnet..

Hi thanks for getting back so quickly, not an air leak been under bonnet to see. Only doing it when car is being revved up or accelerating.

seems to be the front of the engine.

You changed any rubber belts recently?  Could be that if you have, one is a tad too tight....   ;)

Given that its a turbo, it could be a bit of whine, or could be air leak beyond turbo.

Quick test - does the tone of the whine match engine speed, or does it seem to go quicker than engine speed it accelerating from a static 2000rpm?
