I've got some pics some where from when one was done a Newent, I'll dig them out.

If your chipping the diesel in your car info. I hope you have a 35 auto box, heard that the extra umph from the chip kills the 25 box's quick :(

Ahh you'll be fine :)

The problem with the chips is that on some of the ECU's it's a easy job of popping the old chip out of it's mount and cliping the new in. and on the others is a de solder and remount job...

on a 1995 car, you have U25DT engine, hence 21x series ecu.

On X25DT engines (42x ecus), as you unfold the 2 halves of ecu with both eproms on the right hand board, its the lower one.  Can't remember on the 21x ecus, suspect similar.  Omegatoy will know for def, as his is a 21x ecu.

oh well, what can i say, this chip has improved my sex life, i put my foot down & got a stirring in my loins!, but the best bit was the "G" force pinned my other half to the seat, lifted her boobs & pulled the wrinkles out of her face ;D, can i fit one of these to the bed?? by the way it was the upper chip on mine, now for the punchline,,,,got a nice atf leak from the bellhousing, i must of damaged it when i had to force the t/c off, oh well under we go again, my fault for not checking it properly, & how much for a new one? :'( :'( :'( >:( >:(

hi TB & OMEGATOY, yup the chip is something else but please dont say itll find a weakness in a AR35 box, dont you think ive had enough of g/boxes :'(, as for the oil seal when i had it ticking over when i put the atf in i didnt notice the leak then but after a run it wasnt nice, jacked it up on tickover & it was certainly coming out, perhaps when its cold its a bit thicker perhaps?, anyhow is this oil seal a vx only part or is it separate from the 3 bolt flange? if its separate has anyone got the oil seal number [not the vx one] as i have quite a few new oil seals that are fitted to bowling machines as well as some from gasket sets in the past so i might have one,,,answers please!!!!

Almost - but Marie had the seal fitted by a specialist, they just fitted the box to the car, IIRC.

The seal is just a normal oil seal which presses in but also has a small frame held on by those 3 bolts.

Check the TC nose is not scored and that the TC doesn't rock significantly when offered up to the gearbox.

ive got the original bellhousing which came on the AR35 so presuming the oil seals the same as the main shafts are i`ll poke it out in the morning & see if its got a number, unless of course vx have done a sales protection thing & used non numbered items which wouldnt surprise me,then go through my oil seal selection hopefully find a match, & i know what you are saying Kevin, i had to smooth it down due to the scoring it obtained during the last episode, the side to side movement seemed no different to the 3 litre t/c i got with the box which both had the same play in the locating slots, im still annoyed with myself for not thoroughly checking the seal as i checked the front edge as it were, when logically the damage would have been on the inner edge due to pulling the scored shaft past it has probably fraid it slightly as it didnt leak on the last box, my other half summed it up today by saying that when i do other peoples cars it all goes to plan but because its mine it all goes tits up :o which seems about right, but you can say one thing, im not letting this sod win :y,,,,,,,,& OT, i think £26 is a bit harsh for a seal that in reality is about £3-50,did you try going to a gearbox repair workshop as im sure they could help? if i can find a supplier or an equivelent i`ll put it on here somewhere :y

have hunted around for the illusive oil seal as ive got nothing near it, but what is the actual name they call it? ive found this company that list loads of bits for the ar35 http://www.jpat.co.uk/jpat_pdfs/GM%2029_11_2000.pdf,  looking at this pdf file am i correct in assuming its a converter housing seal?[209 15 01], i will phone tomorrow but half expecting its a bulk purchase company but you dont know until you try, shame they dont give a price list [well i aint found one], would it be rude of me to quote the OOF & perhaps blab one f,o,c for testing purposes ;).

jpat sell to consumers, so no problem there. Helpful as well.
