Title: And another thing....
Post by: jamescropley on 22 September 2008, 19:31:36
Best to post this under a different thread.

When i first start the engine, there is a loud whirring noise from the left hand side, sounds like its coming from the wheel arch. It does this for about a minute and then stops. Any ideas?

Thanks

Sounds like the Secondary Air Injection system .. it increases the temperature of the exhaust gases for a short time in order to get the catalytic converters up to temperature faster. .. and is quite normal

secondary Air pump, not a problem, you can unplug it or live with the noise :)

it just makes the cats warm up quicker
