Whilst having the cam belt changed and checking afterwards it was found there was a problem with the multirams not operating.
Timbuk found a hole in the supply pipe to the vac tank which was sorted and the front ram now works ok .
But the rear one is not moving if the vac pipe is attached directly to the actuator the valve moves (opens and closes ) would this suggest that the solonoid has failed its self :question

They were both working once the vac pipe was fixed, Didn't Jaime say the vac tank itself was dodgy?
-
Jaime did say that, however and I agree, he also said to put a non return valve in line, there's a diagram on here somewhere of how to....
Mine work fine, the rear one mainly comes into action when the throttle is snapped open fully and rapidly...
Food for thought :y

LFF64 - they both worked when I tested via Tech2, but the vac tank was not holding vac (hence 1 way valve thing).
-
Oh, and pop round any time if you want me to check it again :y

I have not been around much this week at home so sorry for not replying to this .
I was under the impression that the rear one was not working even after the pipe was repaired .
I have now replaced the damaged pipe and connectors .
I have found a new solonoid and tried that but I have not seen the back ram move at all .

The back one needs a good hard rev to get it to move. Or a chat with tech2 ;D
Have you fitted 1 way valve in the vac feed tank?
-
no not yet back at work now so going to have a look through odds and ends here to see if I can find anything to fit it .
Otherwise a trip to Bloxham in the morning I think (must remember not to stand in the muddy puddle that does not look very deep but is actualy about a foot deep ) would not want a boot full of dirty water AGAIN :D

I thought it was the front one theat needed a good blip.

:y Fitted a NRV in the vac feed and they are both moving now ;)

Love it :y

I had the bagpipes out today to refit the P clip to the power steering pipes .
And decided to check the nrv on the vac tank and as suspected the valve had failed . I can blow and suck either pipe with no resistance either way :y

I have really noticed a big difference in the way the car goes now everything is working . Just need to fit the repl;acement main vac pipe I aquired today to replace the repaired one thats fitted now .

Working multirams makes it much more drivable, with better low down torque.
