Title: donno heater problem

hi still have had no reply,heater in my 1997 omega 2.0litre 16 valve still is not performing right,barely warm on low fan speed cold on high fan speed,any suggestions what the problem could be i.e could the heater matrix need cleaning out,if so what is the best way to do this without removing it from the car.

his post suggests he drives a 2.0

Cleaning the heater matrix is not really the best thing to do, its very big job to gain access.

Are you loosing any coolant? - Check the HBV is not leaking, any history of it being changed?

Could also be a vac problem

the way ive cleaned out heater rads in the past is diconnect the 2 feed pipes under the bonnet, then put on 2 spare bits of hose, get what water you can out, then pour in some kettle de-scaler down one of the pipes until it starts coming out of the other hose, then wedge both pipes youve added somewhere on the bulkhead facing upwards & leave overnight,then flush through with a hose pipe to get the chemicals out, it worked on my old monzas o,k but be warned if somebody has used radweld or similar to block a matrix hole then it will unblock it, but then again if youve resigned yourself to maybe taking it out its worth a try anyway ;)
