Title: What type of display do I have?
Post by: Welung666 on 29 September 2008, 12:07:16
The car is a 96 Elite so is it a MID, GID or CID? I only ask because there is that many pixels out I can hardly read it! Can you get decent second hand displays from anywhere that aren't bank breakers?

You will have early style MID, type with Yellow and Black connectors.

Needs to come from a car which is same model (ie Omega), engine size, and gearbox type, else it will need reprogramming.

Thanks for the speedy response Cem, I was looking at replacing it in the end. All dependant on SWMBO as she's adamant she won't drive it cause it's auto  :-/

Just a thought! (I know.. I should be careful :P ) does it need to be in the car to be reprogrammed? If it doesn't then maybe I could buy one and have it shipped direct to one of you tech2 guys and then on to me afterwards.

I can do older type remotely, but currently it leaves stored fault codes in (working on a fix), this has no affect on it though.

Newer style I can do without leaving fault codes.

Though easier in your case to get your backside down here, or across to Nottingham (or up to Scotland to see H21, but might be a bit far ;D)

Yup, older style, as I said earlier.
