Hi,
Car has been running great since crankshaft sensor replaced 8/9 months ago by main dealer. Then today car has stalled 2or3 times when at idle or moving slowly. You hear a sort of Knock from engine as it shuts down. It does start again after some prolonged use of the starter and again you hear a knock from the engine when she fires up ( like a solenoid opening)
Any ideals please? Surely it can't be the crankshaft sensor again. Have not checked the sensor wire routing used by dealers!
I will try the paperclip test tomorrow after work. What code would i be looking for if it is sensor?
Thanks guys in anticipation.

Hi again,
Did paperclip check and code 19 came up. Its exactly 12 months tomorrow that crank sensor was replaced by main stealer. Car is starting at present but know it is only a matter of time. At least i got a warning or two this time. Gona have a go at it myself this time and try new cable routing as described here. This is the third sensor since my ownership (4 years). Their mechanics would do well to join this forum but would probably get the sack for doing too good a job.
Where's the best site to get a Sensor from?
Cam belt was last changed about 42K ago, so guess thats due around now?
Thanks for replies and ideals

cambelt is overdue - urgent.
I think the crank sensor is one of those "use vx only parts"
but as a;ready stated, route it towards the inner wing and away from the exhuast,it took me a while to work it out but once I did ,I didnt have any more problems. :y
