Title: Fitting Front Springs
Post by: Sir Tigger KC on 06 October 2008, 12:07:27
Hi All,

Is it possible to fit front springs without a spring compressor?

I was thinking of jacking the car on the chassis, then jacking under the hub to compress the spring, undo the strut knuts then slowly (and carefully!!) release the jack under the hub so it all drops down enabling me to remove the spring..... ;D

But I don't want to get to a point of no return to find its not going to work!  :-[

In fact I am not sure it can be done as it  stands due to the bearing etc being on top of the strutt!

I bought these to change the shocks on another car, was ok.
