Title: Will This Fit
Post by: mike213735 on 06 October 2008, 20:37:31
Hi,

I bought this from Ebay from a 3.0 Estate and wondered if anyone could tell me, will it fit my 2.5 estate.
My current rear box is not as tall, but rounder, the inlet pipes are shorter as is the outlet.
Please not that there is some of the middle section still attached to the box inlet, in the image.

Thanks
Mike

Have they bent the rear mounts?

Check also the position of the mounts with respect to yours as they were changed at facelift....do you know what year car it was off.

The rear mount is one mount and the 2 mounts are bolted to it, so all I need to do is loosen the bolt and straighten them.

The car it came off was a 1996 3.0 Estate and I have a 1998 2.5 Estate.

Still OK to fit??

Markey Mark, you've got me excited now, look AND SOUND great....

Thanks
Mike

Title: It Did Fit
Post by: mike213735 on 08 October 2008, 08:25:57
Just thought I would thank you all for your views and confirm that it did fit and thanks to RobseyMV6, is now fitted and looking good (pictures to follow).
I can't actually tell any difference in the sound though, which in a way is bad news, but I suppose at least it doesn't sound like a Saxo trying to be a Scooby.

Thanks
Mike

change the air filter in the box to a pipercross one, that'll change the tone and not the performance. Just don't chuck too much oil at it as the excess oil gets into the MAF sensor and causes problems. :y

No, not really. I suppose there is a bit more there, but if you didn't know I had changed the box, you wouldn't know. If you know what I mean.
