Title: Removing 'phone holder' trim ?
Post by: kevpuk on 11 October 2008, 12:42:06
My Omega came with a protusion on the passenger side of the centre console, with a phone holder on it....and a power cable snakes out from the bottom of the centre console (where dashboard part meets floor part)......any ideas on how to tidily remove this - I am assuming it is a relatively common fitment, seems to match the rest of the trim etc.

Just don't want to be pulling bits I shouldn't whilst looking for how it is held together, assuming someone here has already done similar ?

Can you post a picture? Would help to identify what's what!

SWMBO's Asra had a similar phone holder. IIRC it had a plastic 'blade' that slotted in between the 'wooden' dash and the grey console. The belt & brace bit was a sticky pad onto where you have the 'wood' too.

Definitely it has the 'blade' between fake wood and grey plastic.....just not so sure on how the other end attaches.....down by/behind the glovebox

In mine, if I look up under the glovebox to the right I can see the "telematics" box ( if that`s what it`s called :D) You should be able to trace the connection from there :)

Hey Kev

If you are able to remove it without damaging it and were going to bin it, can I have it? :-?
