On my 2.5 Tourer i am getting a shudder during 2nd gear acceleration.....It seems to have started since i had a new clutch fitted.
It only seems to occur from around 2500rpm to 3000rpm in 2nd gear as i said but its noticeable through the drivers seat and also through the gearbox tunnel under the armrest area behind the driver. It really shakes bad if i give it some stick through the gears almost as though something knocks the floorpan.

did you fit the clutch yourself ?

It does sound like clutch problems, such as it not being centred correctly. ::)
Who fitted the knew clutch, and was a completely new assembly fitted? :-/ :-/

As its only started after a clutch change I wonder if the prop shaft coupling is failing or been damaged.
you need to have a look underneath the car and yank the propshaft at the front to see if you get orbital movement in it, also check if the fixings are tight.

If the exhaust was removed to change the clutch it is possible that the exhaust may be vibrating on the underside if not lined up correctly. This at times can knock on the floor.

thanks for the input guys....i will check those things you have all mentioned.
I was wondering myself if the propshaft could be the problem but cannot think how it can be misaligned to an extent of only showing itself in 2nd gear ????

I am right in thinking that the propshaft is balanced with weights , and maybe have been knocked off when removing for clutch installation?
