Hi,
I've put nev valves in my 2.5 v6 heads, new seals etc and set everything up for timing.Cam pulleys are on and locked in place.
The crank is at "4 o'clock" according to jamev6 set-up. Where is TDC? If 4 o'clock is 60 deg btdc, 12 o' clock would be 180 deg after!!!!
I dont want to mess it up at this stage.
Cheers,
Martin :-/

TDC is with the crank at 6 o'clock, but for every complete 360 degree turn of the cams, the crank revolves 720 degrees have you got the cam/crank locking kit?

No razzo, no locking kit. So long as i dont let anything move and all the marke are in the right place when I finish torquing, that's it!!?

Having done a few, I can get it "somewhere very close" without a setting kit - however due to the concentric idler setup, you'll never get the timing spot on without the correct locking/setting tools... :(

Cheers James,
Cams are all set up to marks 1,2,3,4 & locked but everything else is free. I'm going to get the kit and hope its fairly straight forward from there as I haven't been able to get a copy of the cambelt dvd.
Any thoughts will be appreciated.
Cheers,
Martin :y

The instructions in a kit should be enough for you to be able to change a belt & tensioners. There are some kits on Bay at the moment clicky (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/VAUXHALL-2-5-3-0-V6-CAMSHAFT-CRANKSHAFT-LOCKING-TOOLS_W0QQitemZ230221346312QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item230221346312&_trkparms=72%3A1299%7C39%3A1%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A12%7C240%3A1318&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14)
No idea what they're like though. I have a S P kit .... some where in Yarkshire! ;) :y :y :y
