Title: A/C?
Post by: jim351 on 15 October 2008, 09:18:26
Hi i'm new to this site so sorry if this is in the wrong place, i have recently bought a 98 2.0 16v and it has A/C, everything is in place apart from there isnt anyway of turning it on!! there isnt a button on the dash at all, it may be possible that there has been a problem with it and someone has removed the button, i have popped out the blanks but cant see any wiring behind them! any idea's?

Don´t you have a ECO button on it?

How do you know it has aircon would be my first question...if it does then it should have a) an eco button (to turn aircon cooling pump/fans on and off) and b) a snowflake button (to turn aircon on and off)...

The button is the one marked with a snowflake.  I can't really see any reason for someone to remove the button, seems like an awful lot of hassle.

The pipe is pretty obvious.  The drive belt should be going around 4 pulleys and a tensioner pulley in the middle.  The air-con condenser is the lowest down pulley directly underneath the power steering pulley.

If you don't have any of these items then you don't have air-con. (http://g.imageshack.us/img134/15102008086mn3.jpg/1/)
