Is there a how to on upgrading the rear shocks on an estate to self levelling ones from an elite? Cant imagine there is much involved in putting the shocks themselves in place...but what about the pipe into it, where does that come from and how easy would it be to add??
-
Pump, wiring, sensors, airline, shockers ... all would be needed IMHO ... and that is assuming the mounting brackets for the pump are there and that the self levellers would fit ..
-
just a thought but i think Martin imber(?) got some adjustable rear shocks that have an air/shrader valve to adjust the hight. Might be easier than fitting all that pump, level sensor, relay gubbins? Just a thought, shocks where cheaper too. Depends why you want em i guess?

Can take the whole lot out of the car I'm about to start scrapping...but indeed replacing with adjustable shocks would be easier, but not cheaper in my case...
As to the why...cos I from time to time carry v6 engines around in the boot of the estate and the standard shocks do cope, but its very low!!!
-
i had a carlton which had what seemed to be a tyre valve mounted on the boot lip for pumping up the shocks, is that the thing you are talking about chris??? :-/
-
No Tim, the elites has self levelling rear shocks...senses the level the back of the car is at and adjusts it automatically accordingly...
-
sorry i meant chris & not chris ermmmm ahhhh hmphhhh, the cheeky so& so from reading!!

Oh ok, i met Mark dtm at the rolling road day on sunday, he mentioned there was a relay or something in the fuse box under the stearing wheel.
One of the biguns on the left. Other parts as mentioned, pump lives in front drivers wing. Cant tell you much more than that/mentioned already.
Cheers,
cheeky from Reading. :-)
