Should I change the oil althopugh it was done by the garage that changed my cam covers (they said 10/40 was used).I have just cleaned breathers but still get some condensation around the oil filler cap resulting in mayo. Must say car does not more than 3 miles on most days...dipstick (clean oil) and coolant are fine.(V6 2.5 cdx 98)

Normal for short journeys
-
yep, normal, but you should give it a good motorway run quite regularly to get rid of the mayo, i used to run mine for a good couple of hours each week
-
dont worry, normal as said for short journeys. Omega shows more than other cars because the filler neck is extended away from the engine, and therefor sits in colder temp. giving condensation and hence mayo. Any car will dislike short journeys and benefit from a good run once in a while. You could just wipe it off perhaps?

That is very low mileage for any car, let alone a 2.5 V6 Lou. :o
Your oil changes should be frequent as the engine is rarely reaching it's maximum temperature so contaminates are entering the sump. In addition your exhaust system is not adequately drying out as it does after a good journey (at least 20 minutes), with your battery having more power drained from it in the start up process than being put back by unstopped running (again minimum 20 minutes without loud of lights, window heaters, etc. ::)
My advice is that you should take the car for at least a good 60 minute run per week, especially in the winter months, and try and avoid unnecessary starting and stopping of the engine. ;) ;)

Thanks for advice guys....I think I will be a pushbike (lol). Incidently is 91-92 degrees for normal running ok, my previous omega always ran between 95-100

Hi Lou, I've just finished doing all the normal engine related works on my 3.0L and it seems to run at 95 to 100 and in traffic reached 105 but didn't look to be over heating ::):-X.
PS. Mine had a lot of Mayo on the inside of the cap to until it went for it's first long run :).
