Title: 3.0 ecu on a 2.5...
Post by: ngrainqey on 18 October 2008, 22:20:17
i know it sounds daft and this might be for the electrical/i.c.e section
if i'm putting all the inlet manifold and inlet manifold spacer plate thing(cant remember the name) then will it really matter as it'll only really affect the timing as far as fuel goes wont it) will be adding 3.0 cams too
mods-feel free to move this to electrical if you want
thanks

no it wont work ecu is the same but fuel mapping for 3.0 is different also imobiliser will kick in unless you have the 3.0s transponders

why not just buy a 3.0 elite/mv6 they are fairly cheap now! £600 will get you a nice one!

The 2.5 and 3.0 ECU part numbers are the same IIRC,

So it wont make any diffrence changing the ECU I would think

what i wanted to hear matey ;)
putting 3.0 inlet on it anyway so fueling might help get ponies out of the 2.5 with the right bits :P
interesting having it remapped/putting 3.0 cams on ;)
thanks

Same ECU....the map is not different but, the learn't values will be although it will soon adjust.

You want the 3.0 exhaust ones to as this is an X25XE not a C25XE!

Indeed...all 4 3.0 cams needed, but easy enough to get...
