Letter to my Vx Dealer:
Dear Rebecca,
Thank you very much for your recent letter reminding me of the importance of the cambelt change for my 2001 Omega. As it were, your staff correctly pointed this out to me when the car had its 4th annual service back in 2005, and the cambelt was indeed changed at the time to my full satisfaction. While my car is not due for another cambelt renewal until 2009, I do appreciate that it is not always possible for you to check individual customers’ records when sending-out services notices.
I do have one question however. The heading on your letter states ‘Safety Announcement’ on bright red background, which I obviously found quite alarming. But having read through your letter where you describe the engine damage that can occur if the cambelt change is neglected, I can only see this a maintenance issue, albeit one with potentially very costly consequences. Can you please clarify what are the safety issues, if any, regarding the cambelt change?
Yours sincerely.

Very good Isaac. You are aware, of course, that next time you take it in for a service, they'll p*ss in your petrol tank. :y
