Title: driver side heated seat not working
Post by: markh1 on 24 October 2008, 08:48:15
Hi all,

The drivers side heated seat is not working. I have checked the fuse, is there anything else I should check?

Thanks.

Oh bummer, I have seen the instructions for removing the heater pad but are the heater pads easy to get hold of??

If you have leather, then the heater pads are sewn into the cover, if fabric then it's a seperate pad. I believe you can buy a generic heater pad, that eve if your seats are leather you can place under your seat covers. You may be lucky in that the burnt bit of heater element is quite obvious when the cover is pulled back - I've repaired both my Omega's & previous Senator's seat heater by cuttin out the burnt bit & rejoining to the loom.

Remember to leave it a while after you've disconnected the battery before you start on your seat if they're fitted with airbags. and they're bl00dy heavy too. :-? :y

I was the same problem. I replaced the original leather heater pad with a generic pad.You can put the new pad between the sponge and leather, no need to remove the original pad (it's a big job in case of leather seats). Use double side tape to fix the new pad.
If it's a facelift car than better if you put the controller module outside, so not but back into the seat, it' s better if you make a longer wire and put under the seat. I used the original thermistor (thermostat).
Mine is now working fine :y
