Title: 99 CD keyfob problem
Post by: Welung666 on 27 October 2008, 10:51:45
A guy round the corner has a 99CD on his drive and it ain't moved in ages, so me being the nosey bu99er that I am knocked the door. Turns out the batteries died in the fob, so new batteries & central works fine ( apart from drivers door, sticky actuator I'm guessing) but won't start! Any ideas?

Does it turn over?  Or is it all dead?

Flash the fault codes out first.

Also, when it doesn't start, does the ecu light flash? If it does, go to where you changed the keyfob battery and look for the small immobiliser chip.

The immobiliser chip has dropped out of key when you changed the battery ;)

NOT Crank sensor - is an immobiliser issue.  TB above ^^^ is probably right.
