Title: emmisions warning light on 2.6omega

i have just bought a 2001 2.6 omega and the emisions light is permanently on  i have had a tech 2 done on it and it comes up ( fuel trim malfunction banks 1 & 2. codes P0170 & P0173 . I have been told it could be theAir Mass Flow gauge . has anyone had the same problem

Firstly, welcome to the forum!  :y :y :y

I'm afraid I can't remember the answer to this but if you search for the fault codes it will be there! Someone has recently had the same problem.

I expect there'll be an answer soon anyway.

Can I suggest you update your profile with car and location becaus you will get asked it a thousand times otherwise ;) ;)

I had the same codes and the local Opel-shop said it might be the MAF, I changed it without any success. However, the light has now gone away, so it might be relatetd to the pre-cat-issue which is a know problem with 2,6/3,2 engines.

One thing might be an air leak, I found once the small 90 degree rubber hose that connects to the front of multiram loose and that may also have been related to the codes.
