is it the case that the omega has 2 lists of codes across the range. 2 digit, and 4 digit?
No matter what engine, you have one or the other?
I know the 4 digit to be obd 2, courtesy of Entwoods list thats all fine.
But does that make 2 digit codes obd1 and is there
A similar comprehensive list for those?
Cheers
Edited. Obviously 2 digit can only have 99 codes so that will be as comprehensive as it gets?

there is no such std as obd1, well the std exists, but no rules, and too many variations.
the 2 digit codes are broadly similar between 4pot and v6. TIS does not list 4pot 2 digit codes - it can be a bit gay like that

Is there a list of 4 pot, 2 digit codes anywhere else? Or a Motec/Simtec standard that I can look up.
As it stands, your otherwise quality How-To on the paperclip/pedal test and fault codes is lacking...

If I had found a good enough one, we would have it (or link to it if on another site) ;)

Yeah, point taken. I thought of that about 5 seconds after I posted... :(
However, can you offer some guidance to 4 pot members that the 2.5/3.0 codes are mostly right on this page maybe?

As it stands, members with this system have a black hole.
TIA

you can find the majority of the 2 digit codes searching for them on google such as "simtec 56 fault codes"
should bring up alot of vxon/vauxhall pages

ok. So 2 digit can only deal with 99 codes. So car makers, before the advent of obd2, would assign what ever to those 99 codes? Making them car maker specific. And probably model specific? Thus makeing it a bit of a gamble reading other model codes, even from the same car maker????
Fairly clear, the need for obd2.

No, as 2 digit code systems also use 3 digits 8-)

ok. So 3 digit can only deal with 999 codes. So car makers, before the advent of obd2, would assign what ever to those 999 codes? Making them car maker specific. And probably model specific? Thus makeing it a bit of a gamble reading other model codes, even from the same car maker????

Is there something wrong with the list already here:

? :-?

Briefly looking through the 2 lists below, there would not "appear" :-/ to be any reason why the two cant be merged into a complete set as in the obdII list, for 2.2/2.6/3.2, as this??? http://www.obd-codes.com/trouble_codes/
Apart from the obvious third of an engine missing of course, but i don't see how that can cause a mix up...?
Does such a list exist, for 2 (3) digit codes , or what ever they are called, and would that make life easier for all?(not admin probably) as opposed to a separate list for each engine? Or was it the case, that there is a complete list, and the relevant codes have been separated for each engine? Including tractors?
we did seem to have a bit of a mix up with this on a previous thread, wondered if it would be easier just to have 2 lists if possible, one for 2 digit and one for 4 digit, and be done with it....???? :-/
Just seeking clarification, that's all really :)
