Title: multiple timing notches on cam pulleys...
Post by: ngrainqey on 01 November 2008, 11:59:46
i know this is a bit of a horrible question but i looked at the cam pulleys the other day and there were two notches for the timing marks, which one do you use...
they have a half notch which is in the trough if you like of the actual tooth and the other is in the middle of a tooth...
and it looks like it's like that on all 4 cams!

does anybody such as theboy or marksdtm know which notches are the correct ones?

much appreciated if somebody can tell me

Use the marked notch for that pulley - ie, on cam 1, use the notched marked 1, cam 2, use notch marked 2 etc

right okay matey, i'll have another look when i get time to have a good session with it.
only reason i asked was because it was a mile out with the timing! and there being two notches made it like "wtf?" 2.0 was a piece of pi$$ lol
