Title: Omega coolant level check
Post by: fox on 03 November 2008, 19:49:14
the coolant level check display on the check control has lit up. The coolant in the expansion tank is at the correct level. Is it a faulty sensor (and where is it located) or a duff fuse or what. Any devine guidance?

Mine does it all the time, the sensor in in the bottom of the expansion tank, as a temporary measure I've unplugged it and bridged the plug with a bit of wire with the correct connectors and regularly check the level. Only until I can replace the bottle.

What he ^^^^^ said. You might put off buying a new header tank for a while by removing your old one (clipped to the wing and slide towards the centre of the car) and soaking it for a while with a caustic solution. It worked for a while for me, ut I ended up replacing. Besides a new bottle (£30/35) looks soooo much nicer when you lift the bonnet. :y :y :y

It's part & parcel of the header tank.
