Hi i recently had a problem with my omega the water pump broke and the bits at the back of the pump wet into the water system does anybody kno how 2 flush the water system so that i can get the bits out. any help would be much appriciated

If the water pump failed it would stop the engine, your main concern is has it bent any valves in the head?

Not neccessarily. The impellor can break up without the cambelt side of it stopping.

thats wot happened bits at the back of impeller are broken n went in the water system engine is runnig absolutely fine

How much is missing?

Your best chance is to remove the water pump and use a hose to back flush the coolant system via the drivers side main coolant hose from the rad.

out of the 8 fins at the back of the waterpump i only found 3

i replaced the orginal waterpump on mine at 100k, the blades to the pump where metal.
The GM replacement had plastic blades, what have you got in the coolant? pure water? :o

no there was no corrison the guy whoz working on my car told me waterpump was bent dats wot broke the metal blades at the back so now am putting the water pump new timing belt new timing belt tesioner and the rocker cover gasket on the car all the parts cost me £97 wot do u ppl think its worth it
the new water pump i hav put on the car has got metal blades aswell not plastic.
