Title: How Much Is Head Gasket Kit From Vaux on TC??

As above...friend of mine needs one and I have a trade card...anyone know price for the full HG kit??

Im an a complete novice. I thought it was my head gasket when it was only the oilcooler. VX wanted £273+VAT, ebay from a place in Romford £91 inc. Check it is not the oil cooler. Ronnie

Mate has water leak...personally I suspect its something lesser, not oil cooler as no oil in header tank and wrong part of the engine, but he wants to change the HG to be sure, so who am I to argue...seems to be a few HG sets on ebay at about £60-70 which seems reasonable, is it best to get genuine Vaux for this or doesnt it matter too much?

There about 100 quid a side.

My approach to this job is:

Elring head gaskets (about 30 quid delivered a pair off ebay).
Good head bolts (about 15-20 a set off ebay).
Re-use the cam seals
Genuine exhaust manifold gaskets and cam cover gaskets
Genuine coolant bridge deals and coolant pipe seal.

Works out about 120-140 quid in bits.

And I can vouch for the above, as MDTM 'helped' me do the HGs on my MV6
