Title: Ouch!
Post by: Jimbob on 06 November 2007, 09:50:11
Well, got the snip yesterday.

All went very smoothly

Arrived on time, got called though, quick chat and offered diazapan for nerves  :y which I obviously took em up on.
Sat in a little room for 20 mins while they kicked in, I was nearly falling asleep!
Previous bloke walks out looking like a cowboy who has lost his horse, I dont care cos of the drugs!
Go in, lie down, hurt a bit when they injected the anaesthetic.
and off they went, barely felt a thing, until the cauterising electric shock machine, they just gave me another quick jab and happy days again.
All in all, suprisingly not a bad experience  :o
Shortly after, I got the 'been hit in the plums' type feeling, some ibuprofen and paracetamol saw that off.
Went home and lay down for a few hours.
This morning, a bit of pain when I move, and some very unusual colours to look down on!
Sitting / walking not to comfy, but feet up is ok.

Got a few days off work, then work from home the rest of the week  :y
Hard bit is not being able to pick the kids up etc.

I had the snip many years back.... my only advice would be .. take it steady for a few days !! I did the "lazy thing" for 4 days .. no problems ..., a mate knew better.. went walking and did some decorating .. boy was he in pain 4 days later !!

Just remember .. you can't see any internal bleeding you start by being stupid .. it'll stop but show as heavy bruising and pain !

Just relax and enjoy the time off .... go for the "pampered"option !

was when they turned a fan on by my head, i said is that so I dont smell the burning?

They laughed and admitted yes

2 secs later I suggested I was gonna have steak for dinner, they laughed and said with bbq sauce?

Oh great fun!

Think I'll give the gearbox a miss Pete, maybe next time  :y

I recall some years ago when we lived in the old house, the neighbours had a samoid (dog) which was a bit lively. After it tried to shag the cat for the third time and also took a liking to a sleeping swan they decided to have it 'done'.

I remember seeing the poor thing that evening, it took it a good 5 minutes to sit down and the facial expressions were a classic.

Sound familiar...... ::)

What I want to know is this. When you sit on the toilet to drop the kids off at the pool, are the bruised crown jewels inside the rim or out and if as I suspect they are outside what are you doing about the wee wee? ::)

Been going for the sit as far back as possible technique, all in the rim.

Was nervous though
