Hi all, i have a 2.2 estate auto 2002. The problem i have is that the radiator electric fans come on as soon as i turn on the ignition even when engine is cold. Is this a problem with a sticking thermostat or faulty reley for the fans.
Can anyone help

If it's the fans in front of the radiator, they are on all the time the air conditioning is is on and working, ie eco button not pressed.
The main, temperature controlled fan is behind the radiator.
On a V6, I suspect the 2.2 is not that different.
What is your engine temperature and how long does it take to stabilise?

Hi, the avarege temp is 80 and it takes around 5 to 10 mins to reach this

I can confirm this is normal, don't worry. They stop in Eco mode.
However, 80 °C is a little low I think. 90°C is normal. Have you checked on your thermostat ? Does the heating work normally ?

Normal running temperture, needle in the middle of the gauge ie on a 2.5 petrol - 95 degrees, above this the cooling fans should cut in (various combinations according to model) to restore the temperture to 95 degrees.
