Post by: A1TNL on 08 November 2008, 18:21:21
Some pics of me removing my DIS pack from my omega v6 3.0

Maybe they can be used to as part of the guide for removal

That dispack is well shot :o.

PS. Just for your info, it would be best in future to stick some rag or kitchen paper in the inlet manifolds in case you drop a bolt etc. down them :(.

Yikes! Thats one rotten Coil Pack, when I took mine out I had a problem telling it from the new one.

It is a bit easier if you clear all the bits away from the engine area though. I also removed all the wiper mechanism retaining screws to get that extra millimetre of clearance.

I must say that since I changed mine it is like having a new car,so smooth and punchy. I take the long way home just for fun now!

Although mine wasn't quite as bad as that, mine had started to split due to corrosion of the coils.

There are 4 /torx bolts holding it, I used an 8 mm 1/4" drive hexagonal socket though as my Torx were too fat to fit.
Bottom? Not sure what you mean. You can see in the picture where the 6 HT leads plug into the DIS and at the end of the DIS not shown there's a 4? pin socket for the LT/ECU

Be aware that there are 3 different DIS packs fitted, and it's the 4? pin plug that's different .... I think :-/  :y  :y
I gave Vauxhall the Bosch number for my replacement, who price matched ..... errrrr .... someone else :y
