Title: 3.0 MV6 Running Temp
Post by: star_whites on 11 November 2008, 07:36:16
Does anyone know what the standard running temp is on a 3.0 MV6. Mine appears to be running at a lot higher temp then my 2.0 used too??

Cant see if your car is facelift or prefacelift, but general rule of thumb is the needle should be mid guage or just slightly below when at cruising speeds.  It does rise, obviously, but should readily be brought down by the fans kicking in.

I went on my first long run yesterday and found that she appears to be sitting at about 95 on the clock, Ive already worked out that the fan comes on at about 96/97, is this normal or am I worrying over nothing??

Both our V6s run @ 95ºC, in hot weather if temp goes up to 98ºC fans cut in and bring back down to 95ºC.  Yours is ok :y
